Aldershot and District Presentation - February 2018
A famous name and still fondly remembered by the group whch I was delighted to address at a recent meeting in the lovely Surrey village of Normandy. Having over the years presented the history of Epsom Coaches to many hundred of groups and organisations, with audiences ranging from 300 down to 3, my audience on that cold Friday evening, took a keen interest not only in the nostalgia, but also my varied career over many years, covering every aspect of business and pleasure. The key being to combine both! There were so many questions we didnt get away until gone 11pm! Sorry ladies and gentlemen, but I understand a good night was had by all. Thank you for being such an appreciative audience.
If you would like a speaker for your group, please get in touch.
UK Bus Summit - London, February 2018
As part of my role with leading bus manufacturer Optare, as their Clean Air Ambassador, I attended the UK Bus Summit, held at the QE2 Centre in London and orgaised by Transport Times. The conference was ably hosted by Professor David Begg and Anthony Smith CEO of Transport Focus who are always good value. The conference focused on the leading role buses and coaches can play as part of the solution to increasing concern about the environmental consequences of road transport, especially in cities and towns. This point was well made and I am delighted to be involved with Optare which is leading the field in electric bus technology, with a product designed and bullt in Britain.
CPT Annual Dinner - January 2018
I was pleased to attend the annual CPT Dinner in early February, an annual event that brings togther all the major players in the bus and coach industry, as members of the organisation that is officially recognised as the voice of the industry. Being part of CPT is vital for operators and suppliers alike, especially smaller companies who can easily regain the modest membership fee, with the vast amount of expertise that is available to members. Just one example, a client joined CPT and saved over £9,000 on his motor insurance premium through the CPT insurance scheme.
After many years of membership and being active within CPT, I was delighted to be awarded Honoury Membership, recognising my contribution to the industry over many years. Apart from the annual dinner, I will continue to be involved as I firmly believe in being proactive rather than reactive. Business's which look ahead will always be more succesful.
Steve Whiteway - Special Award - Outstanding Contribution to Business in Epsom & Ewell
Steve Whiteway was delighted to receive special recognition for his long career at Epsom Coaches and for his contribution to the local community at the the annual Epsom & Ewell Business Awards. Local MP and Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling said "Special congratulations to Steve Whiteway, it was fabulous to honour the career of such a respected business leader. I know he intends to continue to play an active role in the business community, his expertise will no doubt be highly sought after".
It has been a busy start to 2018, which is how I like it. From finding buyers for companies, to reviewing operational and other practices for my varied clients, it has been interesting. The feedback from clients, has been very positive, as I prefer to get straight to the point, with recomendations that I have applied myself in similar sitatuons. As a result, it works! Saving money, time and reducing the stress of day to day business of any kind. What's not to like?
